China, Cambodia Hold First Joint Foreign, Defense Strategic Dialogue
The meeting was co-chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Defense Minister Dong Jun, alongside their Cambodian counterparts Prak Sokhonn and Tea Seiha, as stated by reports.
Discussions focused on bilateral relations, cooperation in political and defense-related security matters, and broader regional and international developments.
Both sides agreed to enhance collaboration in law enforcement and defense, including joint efforts to address online gambling, telecom fraud, and cybersecurity threats.
They also emphasized the importance of resolving regional disputes through dialogue and negotiation. In their joint discussions, they expressed opposition to unilateral actions and power-based politics, while calling for the protection of free trade and fairness in global governance.
The Chinese side said it aims to further deepen cooperation with Cambodia, strengthen military trust, and promote a regional security framework based on shared interests.
Cambodia, for its part, reaffirmed its support for the one-China policy.
